Good biscuits and gravy. Prices not to bad.

The food is absolutely wonderful. There is a wide variety of foods. Something for everyone. The service is great, the staff is friendly, the owner is very attentive to the customer and the restaurant is immaculate. 5 stars all around.

Have been here a few times food and service have been hit or miss. Never the same. Our last trip was for breakfast. I ordered the homemade cinnamon roll. Not sure if the waitress put it in the microwave for too long, but it was so dry thru to the center. And very grainy from the sugar. Won't be having it again. On one trip we ended up leaving, stood waiting to be seated for some time and no one even knew we were there. Worst part, they were not busy.

New owners have definitely improved the food and drinks. Best I've had in over 20 years for both. Food plated with much nicer presentation for instance my perfectly fried oysters didn't get soggy in the vegetables. New fresh mixer for bloody Mary's and the bar keep is so wanting to do a good job. Robert is very friendly and attempted an old fashioned and nailed it even for my picky husband. Awesome!

Pancakes were the best part!! Hash Browns weren't done all the way and were extremely greasy, sausage links tasted like brown n serve, scone was dry and harder then a rock, and server didn't understand our order and was wrong last but not least $1.99 for watered down warm "coffee" was ridiculous.

Waitresses were absolute gems. Kristen is a sweetheart. McCormick county gravy & Jimmy Dean sausage make a MUCH tastier gravy. Their's is very meh.

My son and I stopped here for a birthday lunch. We were greeted almost immediately, then seated shortly afterwards. The waitress had our drinks on the table quickly, then assisted us with the menu. All while keeping a conversation with my talkative 7 year old. The waitress had multiple tables, but she made us feel like we were the only ones there. The food came out quick, and piping hot, but not like from a microwave. My son ordered chicken nuggets &fries, while I had one of the specials, English style fish & chips. We both loved the fries - crispy and golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside. My fish was cooked perfectly, and tasted great. Drinks were refilled in a timely manner, and we were checked on at appropriate times. Two waitresses waited on us, both of them were friendly & attentive. After hearing it was my son's birthday, they brought him a huge cinnamon roll. Great service and food. We will be back for sure

Charlie and I had a wonderful breakfast at Kit Carson Family Restaurant. The service was friendly and the food portions were huge! My coffee cup never went dry and each time I sell my server I was greeted with a genuine smile. We will definitely be coming back. The atmosphere was a good back home country vibe.

My coffee cup was rim down on the table. Very gross..went to the ladies room smell of raw sewage from the hall almost threw up from the smell. Told waitress and really didn't seem to care. We didn't eat just had beverage and left. This place use to be so great now it's a horrible. don't eat there

I had breakfast there the and home fried potatoes with eggs the potatoes were too dry and the biscuits and gravy were the worst I've ever had in my life biscuits were doughie and the gravy was absolutely tasteless I couldn't even eat the biscuits and gravy so I told her to take it away and they charged me for it anyway it was a terrible experience I'll never go back ! 😞

We have loved and treasured Kit Carson's for over 50 years now! A northwest institution - just enjoyed breakfast there this morning!

We prefer mom and pop places, so this fits the bill. Been around since the 50's, the food is mostly prepared fresh and has a wide variety to choose from. Good flavors and quick friendly service. We have visited twice and have been pleased both times.

Good food, good portions, good service, good prices. Many choices to choose from.

It doesn't look like much from the outside but this place is a small town gem. Superior service and the food was some of the best family dining I've had in a long time.

Wonderful service, delicious food, kind and friendly staff, clean environment.

When you need a rest stop and down home country cooking, this was a good stop. Food was their own take on cordon blue but it was good and finished it off. My server, Sarah was friendly and attentive, so overall 4 stars! One strange item though, they put a couple raw onion slices on the salad..??

Always love the atmosphere here and the food is good and lots of it. The stairs are not the best part, but it is worth the hike up.

Good food at a reasonable price. Restrooms could use a bit of work. Nice staff but not enough. Lounge is never open when I stop in.

Similar to Denny's or any other family diner. Huge selection of food. Good spot if your road tripping and don't want to go to a chain restaurant or fast food.

Been here many times. Good standard family restaurant fare. Never had a bad meal.

We thought our waitress was great! Would love to see more wait staff like her. If you're in a hurry, I wouldn't suggest eating here. Takes awhile to get your food. We did have some issues though. A family member ordered fish. When she took a bite, she said the fish tasted old. She sent her tarter sauce back to the kitchen because the cook gave her old rotten yellowed sauce to her.

Great service good food and good prices

Went to the back end/bar tbis evening. The bartender was extremely hospital and friendly! I wish my wish and I had visited the this destination sooner 😁 Kit Carson Family Restaurant, please push through these tough times!

The staff was very friendly and courteous. The restaurant was clean and well kept. The wait time was minimal and they kept our drinks full without us needing to ask. I found the restaurant to be on the cold side so if you're sensitive to the cold I would keep in mind to grab an extra sweatshirt. My food was not what the menu described and I wouldn't have ordered it if it was described as it was made but my husband's was made correctly and he enjoyed his. Overall it was a good dining experience.

Amazing service, dinner was wonderful. And we had a great time talking.

It was good food. My only complaint would be the bathrooms were less than desirable, and the uneven floors in there were interesting. But food was delicious!

Have stopped here twice on our way home from Portland visits. Fabulous seafood omelet. Haven't tried their lunch and dinner meals yet. But we've never been unhappy. Homemade biscuits are also good. The staff is personable and don't try to hurry you out the door. You can take your time over your meal and just enjoy it. Good amount of food for the prices.

It's quality seemed not great, quantity was much more than adequate, there was lots. The waitress was very nice. Lots of easy parking available. Will I return, not very likely.

I called to ask if they served spaghetti with only marinara sauce (no meat). The girl confirmed they did. I asked if it came with bread/garlic bread. Again she confirmed this. My husband decided to get a burger for take out when we arrived to pick yo MY order. Just a plain burger...NO cheese, NO fries...nothing!Well, we picked up our order and PAID $22.50!!!! For an ORDER OF SPAGHETTI AND A SIMPLE BURGER?!!! We were driving from Brookings Oregon to Seattle, so we were on the road again! I opened my spaghetti to chow down...and low & behold...this vegetarian sat staring at a below average portion of spaghetti covered with huge chunks of hamburger in the marinara sauce. AND... the BREAD...was thrown on top of the hamburger sauce and it was soggy through & through. I should have made a U TURN on the freeway & got my money back. I ate what I could of the order meant only for carnivores! I hope I don’t get sick!I am NOT HAPPY!!!😡

The food was great as was the service. My only complaint is. For the restroomsto be fixed .The smel is awful. After walking g through it. I had to wait for my stomach to quit flipping so I could eat.

Just a randomly stopped to have a quick breakfast. Place is amazing, great customer service our server Deanna was with great attitude , friendly and caring and the most - FOOD IS DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend this place .

We had a most wonderful dining experience last evening. Neither of us had been there in years. We had the most awesome server, Sherry, who just seems to stay as owners come and go. Being a server myself, we shared stories and laughs. She was amazing as was the food. Everything was prepared fresh and was more than adequate portions and was very affordable. We will definitely be returning on a Tuesday or Thursday night when Sherry is working!!
